SID MOSKITIA

The SiD Moskitia foundation is a Spanish NGO located in Sabadell (Barcelona) Spain. It works with the people living in the jungle of La Moskitia (Honduras). SiD Moskitia was founded in 1996 to support the work of Josep Aguilà, a Catalan missionary who has been working in Hionduras since the early 1980´s. The main goal of the organization is to promote economical and social development of La Moskitia's people, and to improve the education, health, and sanitary conditions.

SiD Moskitia formulates and implements development projects which are carried out with the help of monetary and human resources. Furthermore, the organization promotes other NGO tasks that asses the problems of less developed cultures throughout the world.

Pawanka, led by Josep Aguilà in Wampusirpi, is our sister organization which manages and assesses the projects directly in the area of La Moskitia. Pawanka also focuses its efforts on the development of the educational programs which will improve the future lives of the youth.

With your help and collaboration with SiD Moskitia, a child will be able to receive a scholarship and complete the all the necessary courses in a nearby school.
